Sorry for the dearth of posts – been working on holiday knitting and can’t blog about that in case the recipients see!

I recently gave myself a challenge.  I’ve been following the Yarn Harlot’s tales of her self-imposed sock club, and I loved the idea.  However, I know myself too well to believe that I would ever complete a pair of socks per month.  I’m too fickle and need to allow time for gift knitting (after all, I have that adorable niece to keep warm).  Twelve is too many, but what about eight?  There are eight holidays in the Pagan Wheel of the Year… hm, this has possibilities.  I thought, alright, if I’m going to do this, I would want to start on the Celtic new year, Samhain (a.k.a Halloween to you non-Pagan folk), and finish the first pair by Yule (a.k.a. the Winter Solstice).  I opened a sock book and found a pattern called “Snow Queen“.  The sample colourway?  “Winter Solstice“.  The fates have spoken.

I remember you explaining this to me and rolling my eyes but thinking it was funny. Reading it only adds to the humor.
